Racial, Ethnicity, Nationality or Tribe
Race refers to physical differences like skin color as well as other social and biological attributes that groups and cultures consider significant. Ethnicity refers to shared cultural characteristics such as language, ancestry, practices, and beliefs. It is easy to confuse nationality and tribe, but there are major differences between them. Nationality is the relationship between a person and the political state to which he belongs or is affiliated. Tribe is a society consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture and dialect, typically having a recognized leader. It is critical that organizations recognize the connections between race, ethnicity, nationality, and tribal origins when creating an inclusive workplace.
